THE ROLE
This is a database administrator role within the Technical Services function of CoreHR.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the support and delivery of DBA services
to internal and external customers. This includes the SaaS infrastructure within which the
CoreHR HRM offering resides in partner Datacentres.
This role will be based in Cork, reporting to the nominated DBA Team Manager.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract role.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Quickly establish in-depth knowledge across the internal application architecture
- Manage RMAN backup and recovery routines
- Build and deploy databases for new customers
- Execute data pump imports/exports
- Complete database upgrades and patching in line with latest Oracle releases
- Maintain and optimise existing customer databases
- Install and configure Oracle in hosted and enterprise environments
- Proactive environment and database monitoring
- Complete Database / Application performance optimisation
- Manage requests from internal business units and external customers, responding to and
providing updates within agreed SLAs
- Implement data security and encryption in line with industry standards
- Create and maintain full technical documentation for all relevant systems
- Protects CoreHR’s Information Security Management System (ISO 27001) in accordance
ARE YOU THE PERSON WE’RE LOOKING FOR?
- IT Degree qualified (Computer Science, Software Development)
- 4+ years technical experience in database administration on the Oracle technology stack
- Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex
problems
- A strong team player with an ability to also work on their own initiative
- Self-starter with an ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking and VPN configuration
- Ability to clearly articulate and provide examples of hands on operational experience leveraging
one or more of the following technologies: Oracle WebLogic/ORDS, Oracle
Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, Oracle Exadata, Oracle Forms 11, 12 Oracle 12c, 11g Database
- Experience in operating systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Unix (AIX),
Windows Server
- An ability to prioritize and strong organisational skills are essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
