Job Summary:

Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger accounts and handling all RtR activities that fall within the responsibilities of the Statutory Reporting process team. The person will Lead the future design of all statutory reporting process team within EMEA and collaborate with his/her Global equivalent to achieve consistent and lean processes globally.

The role will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of all Legal entity reporting through the EMEA region and ensure compliance to the Trading Hub & Spoke model in the financial reporting by entity.

The role will directly manage a team of 5 to 10 with direct budget management of €1m approx.


The Statutory Reporting Leader responsibilities include

People

Lead a team of approximately 6-10 direct reports with a total team initially of approx. 20 people. The team are based across EMEA.

Manage the talent management process for all direct reports in a timely manner.

Lead the development process for the team and building talent and succession planning for all key roles within the team.

Ensure a regular team cadence with all team members and a regular cadence with team members not at the same location as the team lead.

Ensure employee engagement is maintained at high levels throughout the team.

Process

Legal entity ownership:

Month End review prior to final STB submission

Entity Review for statutory results (monthly, Quarterly and Annually)

Balance sheet reconciliation and flux review

Tax functional review

Entity Commission/True Up process

Project Initiatives & Complex Accounting transactions


Statutory Compliance:

Statutory Accounts filings

Corporation Tax filings

Statistical financial filings

US GAAP Tax compliance Tax Stream.

Supporting Tax Audits for RtR, collection of data and liaison with the tax team.

Managed Cost Responsibilities

PWC Audit fees

Deloitte Tax compliance fees

Drive the development of standard analytical reports using all the reporting tools available e.g., HFM/ASO/BI/Oracle.

Ensure timely and accurate reconciliations of balance sheet accounts managed by this group with accounting performed in accordance with corporate procedures and GAAP/IFRS/SIC.

Lead and participate in lean accounting, project and process initiatives .This would include automating accounting routines, reducing manual journal entries, supporting reporting excellence and driving productivity actions.

Support changes in our Trading Model, Work Migration or Process Improvement initiatives.

Support the Compliance leader and external Audit with their requirements


Qualifications:

Essential:

Substantial relevant experience in a multinational company.

Professional accountant (CIMA, ACCA, CPA, CA)

Desirable

Proven track record of managing high performing teams

US multinational experience

Problem solving aptitude with a desire to continuously improve processes

High standards of service and professionalism most especially to functional customer's

Naturally considers the business implications

Strong communication and influencing skills

Good team player and business partner

Ability to recognize, recruit, develop and retain appropriate talent

Technicalskills:

Ability to design standard reporting models for presentation to Senior Managers which meet the needs of the business readers

Strong Technical Accounting US and Local GAAP

Good understanding of local Accounting / Tax requirements

Language Skills:


Fluent English both oral and written, plus a second language - French, German or Spanish would be preferred
