About the Team Within Deloitte Risk Advisory, the Centre for Corporate Governance provides a range of corporate governance services to leading organisations, both in the public and private sector, across all industries. We partner with clients in both an advisory and consulting capacity. Key services we provide includes: assisting with the design of corporate governance frameworks, conducting independent Board evaluations and delivering Board and director training. Our client base includes some of the most prestigious names in Ireland and Europe, advising the most senior executives and Directors. Our team has a reputation for delivering high-quality, insightful advice and the ability to see past structures and processes into how people and culture operate. About the opportunity You will have a key role supporting the team with growing opportunities and delivering high quality engagements. The ideal candidate should be able to develop strong client relationships and be an expert in corporate governance. Staying up to date on key developments is key to the role. Working in our Centre for Corporate Governance you will typically be involved with the following range of assignments: Supporting clients with the design, review and implementation of governance frameworks (to include processes, policies and procedures) Leading large scale transformation projects in governance IPO readiness and post IPO governance support Conducting independent Board and committee effectiveness reviews, and individual director assessments Undertaking Board skills audits and developing Board succession plans Corporate governance compliance assessments Delivering training and development support to Boards, committees and individual directors on topics such as governance, regulatory developments and directors’ duties under the Companies Act Advising clients on the latest corporate governance developments, obligations and requirements Undertaking company secretariat function reviews Providing advisory support on role and set-up of company secretariat functions Supporting Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance effectiveness reviews and benchmarking against industry practices Supporting directors and companies with regulatory visit preparation and follow-up assistance Preparing work papers to a high standard and drafting reports Development of thought leadership publications and points of view on governance About you Desire to work as part of high performing team specialising in corporate governance, in a dynamic, challenging environment Minimum 5+ years governance or company secretarial experience, preferably in a professional services, plc or regulated financial services institution environment Outstanding academics Exam qualified or part-qualified in ICSA, ACA, ACCA, ACOI or a corporate governance qualification Motivated self-starter with ambition to continue progressing successfully in your career Previous experience in working with Boards, Board Committees and Non-Executive Directors Ability to manage a number of projects, meet deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations Extensive knowledge of corporate governance codes and guidance such as the UK Code of Corporate Governance, EBA Guidelines on Internal Governance, Central Bank of Ireland Corporate Governance Requirements etc. Proven track record of assessing firm’s needs, providing advice to and influencing management Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report drafting and delivering presentations Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexible thinking Positive and ambitious attitude, and ability to work on own initiative Excellent interpersonal skills Experience managing teams
