As a hotel Barista, you will be required to deliver the best coffee and tea experience on the planet, working with the hotel team under the direction of the Bar Manager.
Must be knowledgeable of health department requirements for safe food
handling (training may be provided).
At least one (1) year work experience in a food service position required; coffee shop experience preferred.
Prefer at least one (1) year of previous cash handling experience.
Demonstrable effective communication and interpersonal skills. Barista foundation course with SCA certification preferred
- Greet customers as they arrive, ask for their coffee preferences and take orders.
- Initiate and indulge in dialogue with customers as integral part of customer service.
- Prioritise the production of quality drinks above all else, ensuring 100% consistency and quality of beverages provided and delivered.
- Be 100% educated on all elements related to the coffee offer (e.g. blends, tasting notes, coffee menu, filter-based, espresso-based) and communicate it as appropriate to our customers.
- Responsible for producing to Java Republic and Radisson standards (e.g. dial in shots, correct extraction, etc.)
- Provide customers with information about deals and any new food/beverage items.
- Describe menu items to customers in a bid to increase sales.
- Provide customers with coffee blend information during the coffee making process.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and sanitation regulations.
- Ensure that the coffeemaker is in perfect working condition at all times.
